01
Deportation Defense
If you or a loved one has been detained by ICE or CBP you have options regarding relief from removal proceedings.
02
Voluntary Departure
US Immigration Courts will grant voluntary departures to individuals facing removal.
Voluntary Departure allows those individuals to not be barred from re-entry into the United States.
03
Defense Asylum
Being granted Asylum can stop deportation proceedings and give the individual a path toward US Citizenship. The Immigration Court must determine if an individual faces persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, social group, or the Convention Against Torture if returned to their home country.
04
Cancellation of Removal
A detained individual facing removal can file an application with the Immigration Court and may apply for a work permit. For green card eligibility, they must show continuous U.S. residence (7 years for residents, 10 for non-visa entrants), good moral character, and that deportation would cause extreme hardship to their U.S. citizen relatives.
05
DACA aka Dreamers
If you are between the ages of 16 and 30 and were brought to the US without a visa and are subject to removal you may qualify for Deferred Action. If approved the individual will be given legal immigration status in the United States and given a two-year EAD which is renewable indefinitely. However, DACA status does not lead to a green card or US Citizenship.
06
Naturalization
Green card holders can apply for naturalization after three years, if obtained through a spouse, and four years, if granted asylum.
Most Green Card holders have to wait five years after receiving their green card because they can apply for Naturalization.
